Counseling Philosophy

I am a relational counselor. I believe in cultivating an environment of love, warmth, empathy, and compassion conducive to healing. My counseling practice is one where I build a humanistic rapport with my clients. I do not believe in a one-size fit approach. Succinctly, my approach embodies compassion, gentleness, active listening, validation, and culturally responsive care appropriate to their personality and adjusted to where they are in their life. In other words, this means holding the umbrella for my clients and acknowledging that each person's culture/identity, beliefs, and values are inherently unique and are valued in this counseling space. To hold an umbrella means embracing all journeys. I realize healing is the bravest investment one can make for themselves. Being vulnerable and working on yourself does not come easy. Therefore, providing a safe space for individuals to show up as themselves authentically is what I value most; I do this by taking a collaborative approach. As a individual with an invisible disability, poet, and 2nd-Generation Filipinx American, defining my truth empowers me to want to empower others so they, too, can find their truth, voice, and power.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy can provide a safe space to process thoughts, feelings, and a space where one can learn about self.

Below are some quotes from celebrities who have benefited from therapy:

"Through therapy and a lot of thinking and writing my memoirs, I've been able to use my life as a lesson."
- Jane Fonda

“And I had to [go to therapy] again when my life was changing so suddenty—and it really helped. I’m a big fan of it, it helped me a lot.”
- JK Rowling

"We all want to be the best versions of ourselves. And talking to a therapist, being vulnerable, opening up about what you're dealing with, it only helps. Nobody can deal with life all alone."
-Michael Phelps

About us

Providing online therapy only.
Empowering people one day and one step at a time.

Olive Tree Counseling was born during COVID 19. This practice is in honor of all the clients I have been blessed to work with since 2011. I started this practice to be able to reach more clients as I believe that our gifts are meant to bless others.

My hope during COVID 10 and beyond is to be able to be a light to others during difficult times.
